From The New Zealand Curriculum to School Curriculum

 

The New Zealand Curriculum sets directions for student learning and provides direction for schools as they design and review their curriculum with their students and communities.

Schools are required to base their curriculum on the principles of the New Zealand Curriculum, to encourage and model the values, and to develop the key competencies at all year levels.

 

In years 1-10 schools provide teaching and learning in English, The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, The Social Sciences, and Technology.

To meet National Administration Guidelines (NAG) Maori Hill School has:

  • Developed a Curriculum Plan to  to give a statement of shared expectations

  • Designed and implemented a school based curriculum booklet aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum.

  • Developed systems and strategies to collect, collate and use student achievement information.

  • Identified student's needs and implemented programmes to meet those needs.
